It was a blissful weekend. I have heard so many wonderful things about this training and a couple friends told me that even if I never teach a single minute of Yoga Nidra, the weekend is a delicious treat you can give yourself – they were not wrong.

The information was presented in an easy to understand format that could easily by understood by anyone. I plan to incorporate Yoga Nidra into my Massage Therapy sessions to help my clients become more aware of their bodies, manage their pain, and relax deeper.

This is such a good training. It is great for parents, teachers, counsellors, mental health professionals, and of course yoga teachers. I sometimes teach a full Yoga Nidra class. But I also use it within other classes and retreats, for myself when I have trouble sleeping or I am stressed, and for my 8-year-old daughter when she has trouble going to sleep. I have even taught it to work groups and teens with barriers to employment. I am biased – I love this stuff and I love Bobby Bessey, but I think everyone would benefit from this training.

I debated taking this yoga training session for over a year. I just didn’t feel I was “enough”… Maybe some of you felt this way? I wasn’t “flexible enough”, ” meditative enough”, ” spiritual enough”, ” thin enough”… Just generally not “yoga enough”. But I took a leap of faith and grabbed the opportunity to grow and am very glad that I did. Bobby and Meaghan were welcoming and supportive. They helped me, and I am sure all of us, to see that each of us has something special we can offer, that maybe someone else can’t. Our life experiences have shaped who we are and will help us each bring something valuable to share with our students.

I learned that there is no perfect yoga pose, or that I have to be able to do every yoga pose perfectly, to share the love of yoga with others. I guess they helped me let go of ego and judgement of myself and others. I learned that I am enough just the way I am. I deeply value our weekends together and do miss them.

Thank-You to Bobby and Meaghan for organizing such a life changing RYTT Program. You are inspiring women and teachers who have encouraged me to listen to my body, from the feeling in my muscles right down to a cellular level. Instead of trying to pull, push, or guilt myself into Yoga poses, I’m learning the power of my Breath. Poses of Healing thought that I had never thought possible are now within reach. For anyone who loves Yoga and learning, this program is a fulfilling experience. You won’t believe how fast it goes and how much you will learn about yourself.

I began to struggle with depression, anxiety, and compulsive, intrusive thoughts as a young teenager. I sought out many treatments and therapies over the years. Entering my thirties, I have finally come to recognize that healing cannot just happen in the mind.

When a friend sent me a link to Bobby’s Neurogenic Yoga classes, I decided to give it a try as I was already familiar with the benefits of yoga for mental and physical health. This is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. Learning and practicing neurogenic yoga for the last six Monday evenings has allowed me to release so much tension and stress from my mind and body.

It is not an intellectual process and you don’t have to talk or even think about anything difficult you have experienced – this practice is more about tuning back in to our own nervous systems and letting them take care of themselves again. Each time I attended a class, I left feeling calmer and more present in my body, and was able to carry this into the rest of my week. This practice allowed me to let go of whatever stressors I was holding on to, and keep moving forward with more compassion for myself and others. I now see this practice as an amazing tool for stress management.

Learning this technique in such a welcoming and safe space has improved my relationship with my body, and I have gained greater awareness of when I am holding on to stress without having to think about it all the time! This practice has also allowed me to learn how to trust myself and my body for the first time in many years. I can’t recommend Neurogenic Yoga with Bobby enough. If you are looking to reconnect with yourself and your body and learn a wonderful and effective technique to release and reduce stress, I really encourage you to give this a try. Thank you Bobby for helping me to change my life!
