ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Ayurveda yoga

Bobby Bessey, B.Sc., E-RYT 500, RPYT has been studying yoga and Ayurveda for over two decades. Her first yoga class in downtown Vancouver in the mid 90’s changed her life direction. She went on to study yoga in various yoga traditions, in both Canada and Japan, before eventually making her way to India where she took her first of many teacher trainings.

Studying in the birthplace of yoga introduced Bobby to the vast expanse of vedic wisdom. After years of exposure to ayurvedic teachings in yoga study contexts she finally decided to fully immerse herself. In 2017 she packed up her family and moved into a little apartment in the Himalayas to study with Dr. Arun Sharma at the Ayuskama Ayurveda Institute. Dr. Sharma’s insights and teachings forever changed her approach to instructing yoga classes. This experience not only underscored her belief in the power of yoga to enhance wellness, but added an expanded layer of ayurvedic discernment that she realized could be carried into a yoga class setting.

In this Ayurvedic Yoga program she hopes to provide participants with both an appreciation and understanding of ayurvedic wisdom, and the skill to use this expanded viewpoint to deepen the wellness impact of every yoga class they teach.
